3rd Fridays

Our destination was Harleysville for Community Appreciation Day but we decided to make a few stops along the way. First Up Telford, very small but sweet farmers market www.ivfm.org at the Train Depot, they told us to go to Souderton next and we should come back some day to visit their 3rd Fridays which they do in conjunction with Souderton-next time!) www.stmainst.orgSouderton is bigger than we thought and seems to be on the road to some serious main street upgrades! The train depot has a new restaurant opening soon (I think it just opened http://www.montgomerynews.com/news/northbound-restaurant-opens-in-former-souderton-train-station/article_9ba20024-ad56-11e8-86b0-bfbc0b251586.html)

Montgomery Theater

We stopped by The Montgomery Theater – a professional theater celebrating 25 years! www.montgomerytheater.org and spoke with Tom-the artistic director-about all of the shows coming up and how popular the 3rd Fridays are as well as the numerous planned events calendar! We then moved on to Harleysville-honestly there is not a lot there (which we were told by some locals is exactly why they love it!) We went to the Harleysville Hotel to grab some lunch and met Mary Ellen- a lovely lady that has been the bartender there for 38 years! She entertained us with colorful stories of the local people and proudly gave us the history of the hotel (now just a bar and restaurant) – made sure we were aware of the local ties with the Philly sports teams (story to be told in more detail at a later date in the magazine) and said we absolutely need to visit the FolkFest (next time) and Skippack Village…which is where we headed next and the location of our video!

Another Theater!

Skippack was ADORABLE! Small but filled with shops, a theater, restaurants and a very cool hotel! www.skippackvillage.com. It is separated by a fairly busy road (we think they need to lower the speed limit there) The Hotel Fiesole has an interesting history (you are going to have to get the magazine to learn more about that J ) and there is an award-winning cheese shop in town you must check out! http://thegrandfromage.com/ .

Another Theater!

We then headed home with a quick drive by in Sellersville to check out the Theater https://www.st94.com/ that I have heard so much about! (are you sensing a theme?)
